Commissioned Projects
Art Works created for Special Projects
2016 - Current
One of my favorite types of work are Commissions. I enjoy working with companies to bring an artistic, colorful, hand-made product to their audience.
I have had the honor to create commissioned work for many companies such as:
Goldenvoice, Vans, Splash House, Saguaro Hotel, City of Palm Springs, College of the Desert, FYF Fest, Chilli Bean Sunglasses, Select.Better CBD, Eaze, Westfield Shopping Mall - Palm Desert.
"Coloramas"
This colorful, cinematic, Barbie diorama lives inside the Saguaro Hotel's lobby in Palm Springs, CA. @saguarohotels is the most Instagrammed hotel in the nation. Saguaro is famous for their rainbow colored hotel that coined the phrase, "Uncomplicated Fun".
I first created this diorama in 2016 and was able to refresh the installation in 2018.
Each color represents a mood and activities that a guest can imagine themselves exploring while staying at the hotel. People of all ages love this installation and photograph it often.
"Splash House"
In the summer of 2019 I was commissioned by Tyler McLean to re-paint the iconic "Splash House" signs at the Splash House music festival in Palm Springs. I worked closely with Tyler to approve all graphics and colors. I hand-painted these signs in the middle of the summer, assisted by Jasmine Jue, and absolutely loved the way they came out.
A Felt Eye View of Palm Springs
“A Felt-Eye View of Palm Springs” by Sarah Scheideman, an idea conceived by Commissioner Tracy Merrigan to create an interactive felt map of the city’s art collection to use throughout the year for community engagement.
With this brief in mind, Sarah Scheideman was commissioned to create a piece of art that would be engaging, accessible, interactive and made of felt.
Soon to be located at the Palm Springs International Airport.
