I created The Coachella Valley Art Scene blog after graduating from college in 2008. I returned home to find an undervalued, dwindling art community suffering in opportunities to thrive and took it upon myself to dedicate the next 10 years of my life to organizing and building up a community I loved and believed in.

The CV Art Scene was created to served as an arts and culture website that would serve as a platform for emerging artists in the Coachella Valley. It grew in popularity very quickly and lead me down an amazing career path full of opportunities to learn and grown from.

What started as a passion project quickly turned into a reliable source of information for arts and culture in my community, event productions (produced events on a weekly basis for 4 years, on a monthly basis for 10), a thriving business and well known, multi-faceted, nonprofit organization.

I am very proud of what I was able to accomplish with very little money and a whole lot of passion. I built something from nothing.

Revenue Generating and Marketing of CVAS Gallery

  • Established the Gallery as a premier event space, booking

numerous community and private events on a monthly basis. The CVAS was home to monthly art exhibitions, yoga sessions, interactive art experiences, and pop-ups.

  • Produced promotional material to entice viewership and foot

traffic. I created every graphic for all social media promotions. I also managed all social media entities tied to the organizations (all had over 5,000+ organic followers)

Exhibitions and Programs

  • Created programs to increase admissions, awareness, revenue

and profit. I built the programming from the ground up working with emerging artists from a variety of backgrounds to create a well-rounded, inclusive arts organization.

  • Developed festivals for CVAS such as: 111 Music Festival,

STREET, 19th Hole Block Party, Poetry Fest. I helped formed the artistic concepts behind many large scale community events in the Coachella Valley. I made sure to incorporate artists of all ages, ethnicity, artistic genre, and caliber into these events.

  • Developed ongoing programs such as: Open Mic Night, Craft

Nights, Figure Drawing Nights, Art Shows, Music Events, Yoga
Classes and much more

  • Worked closely with curatorial team to hang exhibits and develop

programming in theme to evoke attract audiences to venue

Fundraising

  • Developed a Membership and Merchandise Program that

solicited new groups of annual donors and monthly members.

City Partnerships

  • Built good standing relationships with City officials throughout

Coachella Valley. Worked closely with City of La Quinta, City of
Palm Desert and City of Palm Springs to produce events and
coordinate City marketing efforts.

Promotional video for 111 Music Festival in partnership with Sunline Transit Agency. I thought of concept and my team and I booked over 30+ local bands for this mobile music festival.

Promotional video for STREET Art Festival in partnership with Westfield Shopping Center in Palm Desert. I was Art Director for the founding 3 years. Booked all musical and visual artists, as well creating an interactive art space and developed all social media marleting material.

Promotional video our monthly Open Mic Night that was ongoing for more than 4 years. This was one of MANY programs we developed in partnerships with local businesses across the Coachella Valley to keep thriving artists and businesses in contact with one another.

Promotional video for a collaboration The CV Art Scene did with College of the Desert's podcast program. The CV Art Scene would help to use it's resources in any way it could to amplify artists' voices and new concepts.
